Getting Down to Business

One reason IBIE is such an incredible show is due to the vast amounts of business we facilitate on the show floor between buyers and suppliers from across the globe.  An impressive 85% of IBIE attendees are key purchasing decision makers in their organizations, and 85% purchase onsite or plan to purchase as a result of attending. We are committed to strengthening our international partners and networks to provide you —attendees and exhibitors alike—with more opportunities to do business. One of the ways we build internationally is by attending events like Gulfood Manufacturing (GFM).

In 2015, IBIE committee members traveled to Dubai to learn and share knowledge about the food and beverage processing industry. When our committee members attended iba 2015, they noted that packaging was a huge trend. Following up iba with a booth at GFM provided an excellent transition for considering developments in the packaging industry as a whole. The show focused on key elements like Next Generation Manufacturing, Food Logistics, and Food & Beverage Innovation.

55% of GFM attendees originated from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, reflecting the recent exponential growth of the food and beverage industry in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia regions. GFM accommodated this large international presence with a hosted buyer program, hosting a total of 2,000 senior executive delegates.

Given IBIE’s consistent growth, we’re making strides to ensure we can accommodate our international guests to the fullest, while making sure we fully prepare our exhibitors and attendees with everything they need to make IBIE a successful show. Here are a couple of tools we’re excited about for IBIE 2016:

International Buyer Program:
When international attendees contact the Commercial Section of their local U.S. embassy or consulate, they can join an IBIE delegation program. The International Buyer Program (IBP), in cooperation with the Department of Commerce, offers great benefits for organized delegations. Learn more about our partnership benefits here.

a2z Matchmaking Program:
New to IBIE 2016, networkNow is a matchmaking program that will help exhibitors and buyers build meaningful and valuable business relationships. networkNow generates recommended matches for event participants based on precise matching criteria. The portal will open in late-spring to allow exhibitors and attendees to begin scheduling on-site appointments in advance of the show.

Exhibitors Meeting:
IBIE invites exhibitors to attend the January 13, 2016, Pre-Show Exhibitor’s Meeting. This meeting is designed to help exhibitors make the most of IBIE, with presentations from various vendors and a tour of the exhibit hall for those new to the show.
Registration is no longer available as this event has already taken place.

IBIE has developed these programs—and many more—to foster successful business transactions and create innovation in the grain-based food industry. Keep an eye out for updates to the blog as we roll out more ways to maximize your IBIE 2016 experience.
