The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) is the most significant event in the Americas, bringing together all grain-based foods industry supply chain segments. Held in Las Vegas every three years, IBIE gathers the baking community to fuel the next generation of bakers, promote economic growth, to learn and advance the future of baking together. Owned by the American Bakers Association (ABA), and the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA) and supported by the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), all proceeds from this non-profit event are invested back into the grain-based food industry.
The triennial show is expected to draw approximately 1,000 exhibitors and 23,000 baking professionals. The International Baking Industry Exposition is the largest baking trade show held in North America that showcases the industry’s latest technologies, equipment, and new product introductions.
IBIE is produced by the International Baking Industry Exposition LLC and supported by the American Bakers Association (ABA), BEMA, and the Retail Bakers of America (RBA). IBIE was founded in 1920 by ABA and BEMA to provide a forum to connect bakers with suppliers to further the good of the industry. Proceeds from the show are invested back into the industry.
What does IBIE stand for?

What measures has IBIE 2022 taken to safely hold the Baking Expo™ in light of the 2019 pandemic?
While we are focused on bringing the industry together to get business done, our top priority is the health and safety for everyone who plans to participate in the upcoming Baking Expo™. We’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it continues to evolve and are working closely with our Las Vegas partners to follow guidelines for minimizing risk and ensuring the baking community is able to meet safely during IBIE 2022. - The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) was awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR facility accreditation by ISSA. They are the first facility in Nevada to achieve this accreditation, ensuring that employees are trained with best work practices, protocols, procedures, and systems for biorisk prevention and containment.
- The LVCVA also developed a comprehensive plan for a new system of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention. After extensive, thoughtful research on health and safety protocols and industry best practices, the plan was developed in collaboration with health officials and key stakeholders.
- IBIE Show Organizers have certified ISSA – GBAC Trained Technicians on-staff who have been trained on the principles behind infection and contamination control measures for infectious disease outbreak situations such as the novel coronavirus, as well as best practices for response and remediation.
- IBIE Show Management is certified by the Event Leadership Institute’s Pandemic On-Site Protocol Training course on the topics of risk mitigation, internal and external team operations, venue operations, and guest logistics, including situational awareness, handling, and de-escalation tactics – to ensure a safe environment for on-site staff and guests.
Does IBIE have a Code of Conduct? If so, what is unacceptable behavior?
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
- Verbal abuse, which includes but is not limited to verbal or written comments, or visual images that are sexually suggestive, or that denigrate or show hostility or aversion toward an individual, or group of individuals, or that create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment, or that unreasonably interfere with an individual’s ability to participate in the event
- Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other unwelcome physical, verbal, visual, or other conduct of a sexual nature
- Repeated disruption of presentations, including detracting comments or solicitation of attendees; all participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any IBIE event staff
- Expressed or implied threat of physical or professional harm, including actual or threatened personal or professional retaliation for a rejection or report of unacceptable behavior
What are the consequences of unacceptable behavior and how is it reported?
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. If a participant is seen engaging in unacceptable behavior, IBIE event staff are empowered to take appropriate actions that may include, but are not limited to, removal from the event without warning and/or involving local law enforcement.

How many people are expected to attend IBIE?
Approximately 22,000 baking professionals attended in 2019.
Who attends IBIE?
Participants represent the entire industry, including small, medium, and large wholesale bakery plants; retail bakeries and outlets; in-house supermarkets; catering companies; restaurants/hotels; artisan bakeries, coffee shops, pizza restaurants/chains, etc.
Can anyone attend the show? Do you have to be in the baking industry?
You do not have to be in the baking industry to attend IBIE 2022, however, IBIE is designed for trade professionals in the grain-based foods industry–it is not a consumer show. We highly encourage food manufacturers and suppliers in the industry to attend. All guests (except children under 13 years of age) are welcome to attend the show, although guests and spouses are not complimentary.
All attendees are subject to the registration fee. If you are not in the industry, please select the “Allied/Other” category when you register.
Where are the Associations, Organizations & Publications booth located?
All sponsors, associations, and industry publication booths are located on the expo floor in either North or West Hall. The owners of the show, ABA & BEMA, are located in the South Lobby of the West Hall. The RBA booth is located in the North Hall.
Where is the Show Management Office?
The IBIE 2022 Show Management office is located in the West Hall.
I am coming from overseas. How do I get a letter of invitation to obtain a visa?
If you are an international registrant, you will receive a link to request an invitation letter for a visa as well as delivery options for receiving the letter in your registration confirmation email. You can also email [email protected] or call 864-412-4205 to request a visa letter. Visa letters are contingent upon registering for IBIE 2022. You cannot receive a visa letter unless you have registered.
Are there any amenities for International guests?
Yes, for the convenience of our international guests, an International Trade Center will be provided. Complimentary refreshments and meeting areas are available to all attendees who have an international badge designation unless accompanied by sponsoring company personnel. The lounge is open during IBIE show hours.
What is the dress/attire?
The dress code varies from business attire to business casual to casual based on the business you plan to conduct at the show. Shirt and shoes are required of course; comfortable, covered shoes are recommended – IBIE is a big show with a lot of floor space to cover! We suggest dressing comfortably, but the dress code is strictly a personal preference.
Can I take pictures at the trade show?
Use of professional camera equipment is strictly prohibited on the show floor. Exceptions are authorized members of the media. Camera passes for media members are available in the Media Information Center in Room W214 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. To make arrangements in advance, contact [email protected].
What if I forget or lose my badge during the IBIE show?
Once a badge has been printed, it will not be automatically re-printed on request at no cost. REPLACEMENT BADGES WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE FULL REGISTRATION FEE. Please go to the registration area to request a new badge. You will be asked to show identification.
Are children and strollers permitted in the exhibit halls?
We regret that absolutely no children under 13 years of age (12 and younger, including infants in strollers or carried in a body carrier) are permitted on the show floor. You must be 13+ years of age to be on the show floor. IBIE Management will strictly enforce this rule for safety and insurance purposes. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Proof of a child’s age may be required for show management to grant admission of the child to the IBIE show floor, including a birth certificate or official identification issued by a recognized governmental agency or school. Show management has the final decision on whether a child has permission to enter the IBIE show floor. No exceptions will be made to grant IBIE show floor access to any children under the full and complete age of 13 as of the date of requested entry to the IBIE show floor.
Are there childcare services that I can hire onsite?
There are no childcare services onsite. We strongly discourage bringing children under the age of 13 to the convention center – having someone watch them in the lobby is not recommended.
How can I get a show directory?
Show directories are available onsite for all attendees. They can be found in bins in various locations in the convention center. The list of exhibitors can be viewed here. Product locator finders and booth number lists will also be available onsite at the show.
I need to have access to the internet, is free Wi-Fi offered?
Free Wi-Fi service is available in public areas of the convention center, compliments of IBIE.
Does IBIE have social media pages?
Yes, be amongst the first to get breaking show news, updates, insider tips & more by visiting the IBIE social sites on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin and/or Instagram. These pages are also accessible via the IBIE mobile app. The official IBIE hashtag is #IBIE2022.
Does IBIE have a mobile app?
Yes, search for “IBIE EVENTS” to download the Official IBIE Mobile App in the Apple or Android App Store. The official IBIE Mobile App lets you search for exhibitors, view IBIEducate sessions, connect with peers, map routes through the convention center and more.
Is cannabis allowed at the Convention Center?
Cannabis, including marijuana and CBD oils, may not be possessed, used, or consumed at IBIE 2022. IBIE and its officers, directors, employees, and agents hereby disclaim liability for any possession, use, or consumption of cannabis by any IBIE exhibitor or participant. Any exhibitor or participant who violates the prohibition on the possession, use, or consumption of cannabis at IBIE will be solely responsible for any consequences, claims, demands, or damages under applicable federal or state law and by participating in IBIE agrees to release, hold harmless, and indemnify IBIE for any consequences, claims, demands, or damages that may arise from the exhibitor or participant’s possession, use, or consumption of cannabis at IBIE.
Are there lost & found areas?
Please inquire at the IBIE Show Management Office in room W107 regarding lost items. Similarly, turn in any lost articles you may find to Security, an IBIE member or the IBIE Show Management Office.
How can I register multiple people?
The IBIE registration website allows multiple registrations at one time. At the end of the registration process, before checking out, there will be an opportunity to add another person. The additional people in your group will receive the same credentials as the initial registrant. Spouses and guests can be added at the same time as each registrant. Please note that spouses and guests WILL NOT have credentials assigned to their registration record.
Anyone registering who is active in the business or has different business credentials should register independently with either the “baker” or “allied/supplier/other” registration type.

What is the cost to attend?

What are “members of partnering associations” and why is the fee less than the non-member registration?
If you are a current member of an IBIE association (ABA, BEMA, RBA), you may qualify for a membership discount. As a benefit of being a member of one of these associations, registrants receive a discounted registration fee (available for pre-registration only, you must register on or prior to September 17). There are no association discounts for on-site registration.
I think I may be a member of one of these associations, how do I register to get the discount?
If you are a member of one of the partnering associations and are on their regular mailing list, your contact details and your company details are backloaded to the registration site. Search your name and company and the discount should be automatically applied. You can also call your association of which you are a member to verify membership and have them add you to the discount list. There are no association discounts for on-site registration.
Will I receive my badges before the show?
Badges will not be mailed. Bring your registration confirmation with the barcode to an Express Badge Pick-Up station in the registration area where a badge will be generated.
If you do not receive your registration confirmation email, please call IBIE customer service at 800-310-7554 or 240-439-2554 for international residents. If you need to pick up your badge and do not have a confirmation form, you may be asked to show proper identification.
Are members of the press complimentary?
Yes, press passes are complimentary with approved and valid press credentials. Members of the press can register online here. To be pre-approved for a press badge, you will have to upload your press credentials during registration. To receive a complimentary press badge onsite, credentials must be presented in the Media Information Center in the West Hall (W214). For more information in advance, contact our PR department at [email protected].
How can I view, update or change my registration information?
You can update your registration information any time before your badge is printed by accessing your registration dashboard. To access your dashboard, return to the registration homepage here and log-in with your email and password, then edit your registration. You can also add IBIEducate class passes here too.
If I have registered for IBIE but unexpectedly cannot attend, can I send someone in my place?
Yes, call Customer Service at 864-412-4205 and tell them to make the name replacement or make the name change to your registration at any time by editing your record online using your IBIE registration dashboard, see instructions above.
The new registrant will have the same access to everything connected to that record; however, if the new registrant does not want to take advantage of any items included in the registration outside of the badge for the expo, they can request a refund in writing by emailing [email protected] or by asking to see the registration manager onsite.
What is the IBIE cancellation/refund policy?
A refund will be made ONLY if registration is canceled on or before Friday, August 12, 2022. Refund requests must be in writing to the attention of IBIE via fax at 888-722-1888 or 301-694-5124 (International Residents), via email to [email protected] or mailed to 5202 Presidents Court, Suite G100, Frederick, MD 21703. After the cut-off date, refunds will be made at the discretion of IBIE Show Management.

What is the attendance policy for IBIEducate hands-on workshops?
Attendees who arrive more than 10 minutes late to a registered IBIEducate Hands-On classes will not be permitted to participate or receive a refund. Attendees who miss registered IBIEducate Hands-On classes will not be eligible for a refund. Please see a IBIE representative in the registration area with any questions.
What are the rules of redemption for IBIEducate sessions
|Single Pass 2 Hour/4 Hour Hands-On Workshop and Specialty Course (TIA, RPIA, BBGA) Policy|
Single passes permit the attendee into one pre-registered session. Once a single pass is submitted/scanned for a session, attendees are not permitted access to an alternative session, even if during the same day/time slot of the original class. Attendees must purchase an additional pass to gain access to another specific session, even if during the same day/time slot. Refunds will not be remitted for passes not used for a session that has already happened.
|Super Pass Policy|
Super Pass holders may access/be scanned to an unlimited amount of sessions regardless of day or time slot. Once a super pass has been scanned for one session or more, a Super Pass is non-transferrable to another attendee or refundable.
What is the RPIA Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB) Seminar?
The Business of Baking for Beginners, better known as “BOB,” is designed for bakery operators of all kinds: new to the Industry or looking to join, and the “Old Pros” who are looking for a tune-up in best practices. The RPIA BOB is a full day of exposure with experts in the field. Not only will they share secrets and tricks of the trade, but you’ll also have the opportunity to ask Certified Master Bakers your questions. Four experienced members of RPIA’s “brain trust” and more than 170 years of experience in baking await you.
When and where is the RPIA Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB) Seminar held?
The RPIA The Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB) Seminar will take place September 17, 2022, 8:15 am – 5:00 pm at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Conference materials will be available for BOB registrants at the check-in desk outside of Room W234 located on the 2nd floor of the West Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center one hour before the seminar begins. Badges will NOT be available at the door and must be picked up in the registration area in W203.
How do I register for the RPIA Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB) Seminar?
To register for Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB), co-located at IBIE 2022, please add this item to your IBIE registration/cart while purchasing your expo hall pass. An IBIE expo registration is a prerequisite to attend BOB.
How much does the RPIA Business of Baking for Beginners (BOB) Seminar cost?
The cost of this special conference is program is $375. IBIE Expo registration fees and other official IBIEducate education sessions are sold separately.
What is the Tortilla Industry Association 2022 Technical Conference?
The Tortilla Industry Association’s Technical Conference (TIA Tech) is designed to help maximize the success of companies competing in this fastest-growing sector of the baking industry. Whether you produce tortilla products or supply companies that do, this event will provide you with vital knowledge you can put to use immediately and a chance to meet with key players in this market.
When and where is the TIA 2022 Technical Conference held?
The TIA 2022 Technical Conference is taking place September 17-18, 2022 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in room W325-W327.
How do I register for the TIA 2022 Technical Conference?
Registration is available now and you can register the same way you would for IBIE. To register for the 2022 TIA Technical Conference, co-located at IBIE 2022, please add this item to your IBIE registration/cart. This conference includes sessions for the tortilla industry, bakers and suppliers alike. It also includes a reception for the attendees to network. The cost of this special conference is $295. IBIE Expo registration fees and other official IBIEducate education sessions are separate. An IBIE expo registration is a prerequisite to attend the TIA Technical Conference as well.
How much does the TIA 2022 Technical Conference cost?
The cost of registration is $295. All other education, specialty courses and workshops, as well as an IBIE Expo Hall Pass must be purchased separately.
CORPORATE and SMALL MEETINGS PROGRAM
How does a corporate meeting work at IBIE?
Corporate meetings are easy at IBIE! Holding your company’s annual meeting in conjunction with IBIE allows you to reduce travel expenses and travel time, get free or discounted meeting space and give your staff the opportunity to participate in IBIE. You will work closely with IBIE staff to ensure you receive the best meeting space and sleeping rooms to fit your meeting needs.
Can I schedule a smaller meeting (1 – 10 people for example)?
Yes! IBIE staff can work with you on any size meeting that you may want to hold, pending space availability. Meeting space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
What hours can meetings occur?
Corporate or small meetings can occur outside of the IBIE show hours of 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, September 18-21, 2022.
What do I do to have a meeting at IBIE?

HOTELS and TRANSPORTATION
How do I book a hotel room?
Special hotel rates and travel discounts are available exclusively for IBIE 2022 participants through onPeak, IBIE’s official housing partner. You can also save money and book with ease through onPeak’s simple-to-use reservation website launching this spring. If you have any questions regarding hotel accommodations for the IBIE 2022 event, feel free to contact onPeak here or call them at 855-992-3353. A map and hotel list with rates and distances from the convention center are all available here.
PLEASE NOTE: onPeak is the only official housing company associated with the IBIE 2022. While other hotel resellers may contact you offering housing for your trip, they are not endorsed by or affiliated with the show. If you do choose to book with a vendor not endorsed by the IBIE 2022, we encourage you to verify their credentials before doing business with them, and then independently confirm that your reservations have in fact been made and will be honored by directly contacting your chosen hotel, airline and/or rental car company.
Will there be transportation provided to the convention center from my hotel?
Shuttle buses are available during peak hours to and from IBIE hotels that are not considered “within walking distance,” such as the Westgate. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes and begin at the first hotel for each bus route at 7:30 AM each morning of the show. Shuttle buses will run up to an hour after the show ends each day. Alternatively, the Las Vegas Monorail Company provides a transportation service that runs along the Las Vegas resort corridor and connects ten major resort properties and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Are there car rental places offering discounts during the IBIE Show dates?

Will parking be available?
Yes, parking will be available at the Convention Center’s DIAMOND, RIVERA and SILVER 1 lots for $10 per car. Anyone leaving the Las Vegas Convention Center and planning to return the same day can use their receipt for reentry. Vehicles taking up more than one standard parking space will be charged accordingly upon entry when paid parking is in effect. Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Diamond log it closest to the West Hall and the Silver 1 lot is closes to the North Hall.
Are there designated rideshare areas?
There will be an Uber/Lyft drop located in the SILVER and BLUE lots.
What is the Las Vegas Convention Center Convention Center Loop?
The LVCC also offers fast, convenient, free on-campus transportation! The Convention Center Loop quickly transports passengers throughout the 200-acre Las Vegas Convention Center campus in a fun and convenient way, free of charge. The system consists of two one-way, .8-mile-long tunnels built to accommodate all-electric Tesla vehicles driving at speeds of up to 35 mph. The LVCC Loop reduces a 25-minute walk to a less than two-minute ride.
Attendees can access the LVCC Loop via three stations:
- West Station – Adjacent to West Hall, this station is located aboveground
- Central Station – Near the Central Hall Main Entrance, this station is located below ground and is accessible via escalator or elevator
- South Station – Adjacent to South Hall, this station is located aboveground
LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER
Does the Convention Center have ATMs?
Yes, ATMs are located throughout all lobbies of the Convention Center, including the North Hall and Grand Concourse.
Is there a First Aid station?
The First Aid station, staffed by a licensed EMT, is located on the Grand Concourse, near the Security office. In the event of any situation requiring prompt emergency handling – fire, police, ambulance – within the Las Vegas Convention Center, proceed at once to the first aid center or call (702)892-7400 or 7400 from any house phone for in-house Security. Building Security will handle all contact with the official agencies.
Are there available business centers?
The Las Vegas Convention Center has a partnership with FedEx for the onsite business center. The center is open daily from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM and is located on the Grand Concourse. The following are available exclusively to guests: faxing, packaging, shipping and receiving, email and internet browsing, office supplies, photocopying, signs/posters/banners, business cards, and copy machine rentals. Is there a shipping office in the Convention Center?
There is a FedEx Office onsite located in the Grand Lobby (Central Hall) and the South Hall Lobby of the Convention Center. Please call 702-943-6780 for more information and a list of services.
Does the Convention Center have food services?
Convention cafes and restaurants are conveniently located throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center, including flagship restaurants, as well as concession stands offering myriad options. The restaurants and concession stands are open during exhibit hours. Menus, locations, pricing and hours of operation for each food service location can be found in here and in the IBIE Mobile app.
Can I bring a service animal to the Convention Center?
Service dogs and miniature ponies are welcome on the show floor and the LVCC. Please direct any questions to [email protected] or visit the Show Management Office onsite in W107.
Does the Convention Center offer assistance for visitors with varying abilities?

- Wheelchair or Scooter Rental
Requests for wheelchair and scooter rentals can be made through Scootaround Mobility Solutions; phone 888-441-7575 for reservations. Scooter rental requests can be made online here. You can book your mobility rental up to one year in advance and have it delivered to your hotel (pick up at Bell Desk) or you can make arrangements to pick it up at the FedEx Office in the West Hall.
- Automatic Doors
Automatic doors have been installed at both facilities at the most frequently used entrances for our disabled visitors.
TDDs (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) are located throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center. The IBIE 2022 show is located in the C (Central) and N (North) Halls, not in the S (South) Hall. There is one TTD at the bank of courtesy phones across from Dispatch (near Hall C3), one at the bank outside Room N243 (top of Grand Lobby escalators), and one in the Hall S1 lobby.
