Washington, DC— March 1, 2018 — The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), North America’s largest baking industry event known as the Baking Expo™, opens its call for speakers for the 2019 show. These industry professionals will have the opportunity to present business best practices, provide hands-on demonstrations, and share emerging industry solutions, trends and technologies to the more than 23,000 grain-based foods professionals in attendance. IBIE 2019 is scheduled for September 8-11, with a full day of education on September 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
IBIE’s education program, now called IBIEducate, will offer more than 90 sessions of targeted educational opportunities for attendees in every role and every segment of the baking industry, presented by business and baking industry professionals. IBIE’s comprehensive program will be offered in specialized tracks addressing compelling trends and topics across a spectrum of industry needs.
“Because education is paramount to growing the industry, IBIE 2019 will launch a full day of education prior to the show to respond to requests made by attendees and stakeholders,” said Andrea Henderson, chair of the IBIE Education Task Force. “The baking industry is filled with talented, creative people eager to share their know-how to help their colleagues achieve greater quality, efficiency, and profits. IBIE turns to this vibrant community to encourage them to share their knowledge, expertise, and experiences to help move the baking industry forward. Speaker candidates will be asked to leverage their unique insights and skills to present in classroom sessions in creative, compelling, and engaging ways. Session topics may include automation technology; cannabis edibles for bakery; food safety and sanitation; hands-on skills in artisan baking, pastry and decorating; marketing skills for retail businesses; new ingredients and production trends; retail trends; and workforce hiring, training and retention. IBIE is open to considering proposals on any fresh, relevant topics in the baking industry as well.
